Bottom Line Local Lesson Learned

I learned this with my own local small business University Places, LLC.  University Places is 4 student rental houses just off campus near the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.  Unlike huge property managers with a sign on every house we had reduced visibility.  There was a website but it was not optimized for searchers.

Like the doctor who didn’t take care of himself, the University Places website was neglected.  In the summer of 2010 I decided to whip it into shape and get it optimized for search. I added a contact form and did some other on page and off page SEO to the site.

The result was getting over 100 people on my potential renter list before I even started renting and getting all the houses rented in about 6 weeks.  The prior year it took nearly year.  That was extremely stressful.
